Gene Hackman, his wife Betsy Machiko Arakawa and one of their 3 dogs were found dead on 26. February, 2025.
Arakawa died on  11. February, 2025 from complications related to hantavirus - she was last seen in public on that day and has not opened any e-mails after that date.
Hackman died on 18. February 2025 as his pacemaker data indicates - due to advanced Alzheimers disease he might not have been aware, that Arakawa died in his home, days ago.

he was married to classical concert pianist Arakawa (* 15. December 1959) since 01. December 1991

while at the Pasadena Playhouse, Hackman and a classmate were voted 'Least likely to succeed'
