December 2000 Spielberg is given an honorary knighthood in recognition of his contribution for the british film industry...but as he is a US citizen, he is not allowed to add the title 'Sir'to his name but if he wants, he can add the abbreviation KBE (Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) to his name...if used, the letters KBE will be set after his name, not at first like if the title 'Sir'would be used
